My New Favorite Commandline Tool

I recently discovered Calibre and sideloading pdfs and epubs onto my kindle. I would much rather jailbreak my kindle and be able to use it as I wish, but that will have to wait until I have enough time to review the scripts and exploits that I would use. For the time being, I have been putting Project Gutenberg epubs and various math pdfs onto my kindle via Calibre.

This brings me to my new favorite commandline tool: tex4ebook. As a pilot, I was able to turn the latex source of J. Peter May’s A Concise Course in Algebraic Topology into a very readable epub with table of contents.

I will now be happily reading his textbook on my old kindle and moving any notes or papers whose latex source I have access to over to my kindle.
